Social Days in Berlin

Panda talk and garden magic

The colleagues from the Berlin site carried out two projects in cooperation with the Märkisches Kinderdorf Ludwigsfelde, which is a "temporary home" for children and young people in need in the Berlin area. A colleague who has been privately involved with this institution for some time gave the decisive tip to support it as part of the secunet Social Days.

Enthusiastic faces after an afternoon full of animal-beautiful experiences and a belly filled with sweet treats - that's probably a pretty good way to sum up the zoo visit with the Märkisches Kinderdorf. The children, aged 6 to 12, discovered the different animal species and learned more about giraffes, elephants and... pandas during a guided tour. At the same time, the kids were always digging into the snack bags, which secunaut*s had packed in significant quantities for the kids. Nevertheless, everyone still had room for a delicious ice cream at the end of this great excursion!

The Hand-On team lent a helping hand in the outdoor area of the children's village in Ludwigsfelde:

One part of the team took care of the garden and transformed the planters into a colorful flower meadow, while the other colleagues swung the grinders. And how...! Existing benches were sanded and newly glazed and comfortable seating lounges were created from pallets. And because the team couldn't get enough of sanding, the garden hut was also spontaneously freed from old paint and splinters. It was an enriching experience to visibly beautify the children's village together within one day!
