"The NATO and EU approval of the secunet SBC is a sign of greater digital sovereignty at European and multinational level," says Dr Kai Martius, Chief Technology Officer at secunet. "The ability to make secure VoIP calls and to use modern tools for voice communication even with classified content also boosts efficiency and resilience. Being the first German provider of such a solution with the relevant approvals, we are delighted to be able to contribute to this."
The secunet SBC enables the secure coupling and connection of VoIP networks with different security classifications – for example, between different locations or organisations. At the network transition, it forwards or rejects VoIP calls depending on whether the security criteria are met. This enables tap-proof telephone calls, conference calls and even web conferences to be carried out via VoIP. The solution also monitors VoIP traffic, thereby protecting against attacks.
In order to make VoIP calls with classified content, end devices with the appropriate approvals are required in addition to the secunet SBC. The SINA portfolio from secunet offers a wide range of highly secure components for various application scenarios with national and international approvals.
