Implementation of secure infrastructures on the basis of SINA

The storage and processing of such classified documents is subject to the regulations for the protection of secrets in the economy. Siemens has implemented its own infrastructure for this purpose, which enables the processing and storage of documents and classified information in digital form.

Furthermore, Siemens AG operates a secure data centre in which information that is particularly confidential is processed. Components from secunet's SINA product portfolio are used in both infrastructures to ensure the highest level of IT security and the proper implementation of regulatory requirements.

More than a thousand Siemens employees from a wide range of sectors use secure clients based on SINA Workstation for this purpose. The SINA Workstation enables Siemens to work in parallel with the standard Siemens Office Client and with a special security client on one hardware.

All SINA workstations are managed by Siemens administrators. The clients' communication to the confidential information in the central data centre is secured by a VPN tunnel to the SINA Box located in the data centre.
