Consulting regarding certification of an ISMS in accordance with ISO/IEC 27001

Energy suppliers issue invoices for around 4.8 million metering points via rku.it’s data processing centres. The company offers its customers services related to the migration, launch and optimisation of IT infrastructures and applications.
 
In light of growing information security requirements and the entry into force of the German IT Security Act, rku.it decided to boost its IT security with help from secunet.

The project involved the extension of the company’s existing information security management system (ISMS) with the aim of achieving certification in accordance with ISO/IEC 27001. A particular requirement for this was compliance with a number of regulations (e.g. the German Data Protection Act, the German Energy Act and the future German IT Security Act) and standards (e.g. ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IECTR 27019, BSI TR-03109, ISO9001 , CeBIT), as well as all relevant requirements from the CRITIS energy, water and transport and logistics sectors.
 
secunet supported rku.it as it worked towards its first certification according to ISO/IEC 27001 and assisted the company with its successful certification audit.
