New app makes Elster even more secure
"The new ElsterSecure app makes Elster even more secure. ElsterSecure replaces the ElsterSmart app, which you could already use to save your Elster certificate file. With the new ElsterSecure security solution, you can now authenticate yourself via smartphone or tablet and access your Elster account in a protected manner - in accordance with the current guidelines of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI)."

Elster is a project of the German tax administrations of all states and the federal government for the electronic processing of tax returns and applications. The new ElsterSecure app is based on protect4use from secunet and is available for use by all taxpayers.
