SINA on course for further success – 20,000 systems delivered

[Essen, December 14, 2009] Since 2002, secunet has delivered more than 20,000 SINA components to customers and organizations with the highest security demands. SINA, the secure inter-network architecture, facilitates secure processing, storage and transfer of sensitive data or classified information. Particularly for public authorities, SINA is becoming the core infrastructural IT element for secure data transfer.

“The number of SINA installations, including at an international level, shows that the need for high-security communication solutions is continually increasing,” explained Dr. Rainer Baumgart, CEO of secunet. “Government applications and mobile systems in particular need special protection, delivered without fail by our high-quality SINA products.”

On behalf of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), secunet has developed the secure inter-network architecture, SINA. The product family now comprises systems for a wide range of applications and classifications. Aside from stationary devices, mobile solutions also contribute to SINA's success. An example of this is the SINA Virtual Workstation – a notebook with a comprehensive approach to security. It comprises the secure SINA Linux system platform, Smartcard-based user authentication, completely encrypted file systems, and VPN-secured communication. Building on this, virtualization technology also allows data with different security classifications to be processed at the same time.
