secunet and Secusmart plan future cooperation

[Duesseldorf/Essen, 01 March 2009] Essen-based secunet Security Networks AG and Duesseldorf-based Secusmart GmbH have decided to pool their knowledge and cooperate even more closely in future.

secunet brings expertise in the field of secure data communication to the partnership in the form of the successful secure inter-network architecture SINA. SINA is used for secure processing, storage, and transfer of classified information as well as other sensitive data. Secusmart contributes its experience in the area of hardware-based security for mobile voice and data communication on standard commercial mobile phones. The central component is the Secusmart Security Card, which uses the cryptography of the digital radio for German emergency services, TETRA BOS, and is therefore prepared for the secure transnet voice communication standard (SNS in German).

Dr. Quelle, Managing Director of Secusmart, made a statement shortly after the cooperation agreement: "We are delighted to have found such a skilled and established partner in secunet, whose SINA architecture complements our mobile high-security solution, Secusmart Security Card."

"With Secusmart, we have gained another partner that will offer SINA-compatible technology. In the future, we would like to provide high-security VPN connections between SINA products and ultra portable smartphones," said Dr. Rainer Baumgart, Chairman of the Management Board of secunet, commenting on the cooperation.
