[Nuremberg, October 19, 2010] At the it-sa 2010 specialist trade fair for IT security, Bernd Kowalski, department head at the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), today awarded secunet Common Criteria EAL 4+ certification. secunet's wall packet filter version 3.0.3, which forms the core component of secunet wall 1, received the certification. Michael Hange, president of the BSI, personally congratulated secunet at its trade fair stand.

"With secunet wall 1, we have a first-class firewall solution in our portfolio. The certification has proven the reliability of its core component, the secunet wall packet filter version 3.0.3," explains Dr. Rainer Baumgart, CEO of secunet, who accepted the certificate. "secunet wall 1 is used in large infrastructure projects in Germany. The certification of its core component increases its value in terms of security."

The certification of the secunet wall packet filter was carried out on the basis of Common Criteria Version 3.1. Bonn-based SRC Security Research & Consulting GmbH accompanied the procedure in its function as evaluation facility. SRC is recognized by the BSI as an evaluation facility for Common Criteria.
