Remote access must be secure

Secure remote access to control stations and control rooms
Remote access must be secure

Current security landscapes in the area of conflict between complex threats, agility and business continuity

Control centres and control rooms are often used in critical infrastructures (CRITIS) that need to be protected. A lack of information security can even endanger human lives - for example in the case of a ransomware attack on a hospital, which is de facto incapacitated until payment is made to the cybercriminals.

Other critical infrastructures that also need to be protected against sabotage and espionage are ...

- the energy and drinking water supply as well as waste water disposal
- Transport and traffic systems
- Communication infrastructures from government radio to the media industry
- the food and process industries as well as automobile production
- Security, emergency and rescue services

All these and many other industries have one thing in common: they operate control stations and control rooms. These are increasingly networked and operated and maintained by means of remote access solutions in order to increase the efficiency of work at the control room and in the control room.

In the SINA case study "Secure remote access to control stations and control rooms", you can find out all about the requirements for secure remote access solutions and how SINA meets these requirements (written in German).
