Realisation of the "GPKE-regulation" of the Federal Network Agency

"The Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) required that all energy providers nationwide introduce electronic billing with digital signatures in 2008. In addition, we arranged to transmit encrypted electronic invoices with some of our business partners. We therefore needed a complete solution from a provider who would be able to seamlessly carry out the migration together with us. secunet was the only company to offer us this complete solution: qualified signatures, encryption and project management from a single source with a contact partner who took care of everything. We now sign our invoices using the secunet multisign solution and encrypt them directly thereafter with a system from Zertificon, a partner of secunet’s. The company’s IT experts took a lot of work off our hands: from the installation and the interfaces for the encryption solution all the way to commissioning. The best thing of all is that the solution was completely installed after two days’ time and we were able to electronically sign and send our invoices immediately. Highly available signing is already possible; and verification with high availability will follow in future. This guarantees that our day-to-day business can also proceed electronically without disturbance, i.e. all the invoices we send and receive in digital form can be processed – even if a proxy happens to be down."
