German Armed Forces procure SINA Virtual Workstation for the Afghanistan Mission Network

The Afghanistan Mission Network is the primary C5ISR (command, control, communications, computers, combat systems, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance) network in the Afghanistan operation area for all ISAF troops and will replace all national operations systems. As an innovative operational concept, AMN includes the provision of a standardized, ISAF-wide information area for the exchange and processing of the operational data of all international ISAF forces.

The SINA Virtual Workstations to be added as a result of this SINA procurement allow for the processing of data at levels up to and including SECRET/NATO SECRET/MISSION SECRET. A new performance feature of the ordered crypto clients in the AMN configuration is their dual-monitor capability.

The Secure Inter-Network Architecture SINA is a high-security solution which secunet developed together with the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). SINA has been in successful use for many years by authorities and the armed forces in particular.
