Intrusion Protection Traditional company boundaries are disintegrating – your IT network no longer simply comprises permanent workplaces in an office building, but also notebooks of field staff, home offices and guests who sign on to your network. These are potential sources of danger which may compromise the security of your data. In addition, attack methods are becoming more sophisticated at an alarming rate.
Security measures such as firewalls and VPN gateways frequently do not provide sufficient protection to completely exclude the possibility of data misuse. Intrusion Detection & Response Systems (IDRS) not only protect against attacks, but also analyse them. The evaluation of audit and log data enables the user to see which security-critical actions are currently running, to determine who/what initiated such actions and to check the damage done. They verify whether the security measures taken are effective and support you in optimising your internal security policies. This enables you to take adequate and specific precautions.
In addition to IDRS, you can use Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS). They protect the services running behind and in front of the firewall and can provide the firewall with further information on potential attacks.
A great variety of IDRS and IPS are available on the market – each with its own pros and cons. secunet has cooperated with the vendors of these systems for many years. Therefore, we can provide you with competent support in selecting, integrating and fine-tuning the tool that bests suits your individual requirements.
