Standard software for testing compliance of ePassports
The interoperability of electronic passports is the essential request in times of globalisation. Every single passport should be testable at border controls at all airports worldwide and the data stored on the chip must be secure. Concerning this, the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and the EU defined requirements for the compliance of electronic machine-readable travel-documents. These requirements relate to the physical as well as to the logical level.
With its eID Test Suite secunet provides a standardised test-software. Manufacturers of electronic passports or individual passport-components, such as the electronic chip, for example, benefit from this: at any time, they can check for themselves to which extent their product complies with the requirements of ICAO and EU.
